ABOUT ASTRIS COLLECTIVE
Where the mountains meet the stars
Astris – with the stars. Golden by day, magic by night.
OUR STORY
This landscape deserves slowness
Astris Collective began with a simple observation: the Mackenzie is one of the most beautiful places on earth, yet too many visitors pass through it without ever truly feeling it. They arrive late, leave early, and spend the time in between searching for a restaurant or a key box.
We believe this landscape deserves slowness. So we created a small collection of exceptional homes, and wrapped each stay in the kind of hosting you’d expect from the world’s finest lodges – personal, intuitive, and entirely local.
MEET YOUR HOST

Hollie
Host. Designer. Explorer.
Raised in Canterbury, Hollie spent her childhood surrounded by mountains – outdoors by day, and under the stars by night. Today, she is lucky to call Lake Tekapo home.
She has since explored some of the world’s most remote and beautiful corners, yet nowhere has quite matched the light here – the way it moves across the mountains, revealing every ridge, fold and shadow. Each season brings its own magic.
Astris Collective is Hollie’s way of sharing the place she loves. Her design degree and background in luxury tourism shape how she chooses each home and cares for each guest – with an eye for beauty, and a feel for the small moments that stay with you long after you leave.

“I’ve been lucky enough to see some extraordinary places. Lake Tekapo is just as magic as any of them – and I get to call it home.”

WHAT WE BELIEVE
Four quiet principles
Stillness is the ultimate luxury.
We protect it.
Local is everything.
We live here, we buy here, we employ here.
Details, quietly handled.
The best hosting is the kind you barely notice.
Tread lightly.
We honour the land, the dark skies and the people of Te Manahuna, and we’re proud to support the Tiaki Promise – caring for New Zealand, for now and for future generations.
THE MEANING OF OUR NAME
Astris (AS · triss)
Latin, “with the stars”.
From astrum, meaning star, and echoing the ancient phrase ad astra – to the stars. Long before street lights and screens, the night sky was humanity’s oldest map, its oldest myth, its oldest reason to stay outside after dark.
The Mackenzie Region is one of the last places on earth where the sky still does what it always did. Astris is where the day’s golden light gives way to that – a place where you don’t just see the stars. You stay with them.
